AP Group AA Player of the Year as a senior, Rose threw for 1,133 yards and rushed for 1,790 yards in leading Amherst to its second consecutive state title. He scored a total of 40 touchdowns.

Rose threw for 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns and rushed for 740 yards and 18 touchdowns in his junior season. He earned all-state honors for his performance.

Head coach Scott Abell: “Peter is our quarterback and defensive back. He was the Offensive Player of the Year everywhere down in the area. He’s up for state player of the year on offense. He’s 6-1, 180 pounds. I’m not sure he’s a quarterback on the next level. He threw for 1,200 yards, but it’s hard to judge because we run an option offense. He could be a defensive back or wide receiver, though.”
