As a junior in 2006, Barber tallied 54 receptions for 1,034 yards (a 19.1 ypc average) and hauled in 12 touchdowns. He helped Edison capture a Northern Region Division 5 Championship title.

For his junior season performance, Barber earned AP AAA first-team all-state honors at wide receiver.

Barber's brother is former Virginia Tech standout Willie Pile.
