Farris Commits to Virginia Tech April 25, 2009 Rockbridge County (Lexington, VA) offensive lineman Caleb Farris earned an official scholarship offer from Virginia Tech in early April. Three weeks later, he has accepted the offer, becoming the third player to commit to Tech's 2010 recruiting class. The 6-4, 300-pound junior, currently in Blacksburg for Tech's Spring Game, realized a dream when he committed to the Hokies this morning around 10:30. more
Top Targets Expected in Blacksburg April 24, 2009 King William (VA) defensive tackle Nick Acree, Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA) wide receiver Justin Hunter, Brookville defensive end Zack McCray and Fork Union (VA) offensive lineman Mark Shuman headline what is shaping to be a terrific list of incoming visitors for tomorrow's Spring Game. It will be an important weekend recruiting-wise for Tech, which so far has commitments from two of the top players in the state in Acree and Shuman.

Henderson Drawing More Interest April 24, 2009 Southeast Raleigh (Raleigh, N.C.) quarterback Gabe Henderson has enjoyed an active Evaluation period, but for now the 6-0, 180-pound junior waits to see what programs will come through with official offers. Henderson, who totaled 2,900 yards (2,300 passing and 600 rushing) and 38 touchdowns (27 passing, 11 rushing) as a junior, currently holds the one official offer from Kent State. more
2009 Spring Game Preview April 23, 2009 Virginia Tech's spring practice will culminate in the annual Maroon-White game on Saturday afternoon in Lane Stadium. The game doesn't mean much, because the starters are split up between the two teams, but it gives Tech fans their only chance to see the team in action before the actual season begins. It also provides the opportunity to get a look at some exciting new players, such as tailback Ryan Williams. more
Under Armour All-American Makes Visits April 23, 2009 6-2 1/2, 215-pound linebacker/defensive end prospect Dakota Royer has been an excellent player at Manheim Central High School (Manheim, PA), performing well on both sides of the ball last season as a junior. A recognized recruit nationally, Royer has been named to the Under Armour All-American game set for January of 2010. more
Shuman is a Hokie April 22, 2009 Mark Shuman had planned to wait until Saturday before telling Virginia Tech's coaches that he was accepting their scholarship offer, but, with the news of his decision already out, he decided to expedite things. Earlier this evening, Shuman, a 6-7, 285-pound offensive tackle prospect out of Fork Union Military Academy (VA), pledged to the Tech coaching staff. more

ACC Programs High on Marshall's List April 15, 2009 5-11, 170-pound junior cornerback A.J. Marshall is now up to 10 written scholarship offers, with Syracuse, Tennessee and West Virginia being the most recent schools to mail the paperwork. Marshall, a star prospect out of Southern High School in Durham, North Carolina, currently favors three of those 10 programs. more

Scrimmage Report: Williams Flashes Big Play Ability April 10, 2009 The Hokies held their first full scrimmage of the spring in Lane Stadium on Friday, and things went as expected. The first team offense handled the second team defense, while the starting defenders dominated the reserve offensive players. The young backup quarterbacks showed they have a ways to go, while Ryan Williams provided the big plays on offense that we've been hearing about for so long. more
