Bethel (Hampton, VA) cornerback Rijo Walker made a big splash his sophomore year, racking up an astounding 11 interceptions and helping the Bruins to a 10-2 record. The 5-10, 170-pound prospect, now about to enter his senior year, has become one of the leaders, on and off the field, of head coach Jeff Nelson's program.

Midlothian Star Commits to Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech has scored its 10th commitment of the 2010 class and its third offensive line commit of the class. 6-3 1/2, 290-pound Midlothian (VA) standout Matt Arkema, ranked #23 in TSL's In-State Top 30, pledged today while making an unofficial visit to Virginia Tech.

Midlothian Standout Set to Visit Tech

Midlothian (VA) offensive lineman Matt Arkema recently visited East Carolina and Maryland and will next visit Virginia Tech. The 6-3 1/2, 290-pound rising senior will be in Blacksburg on June 29th and looks forward to the experience.
"I'm really excited to spend more time with the coaches," he said. "I'm excited to spend time with them, see the campus and hang out."

Trio Headlines Dinwiddie's 2011 Class

Dinwiddie High School (VA) made the Group AAA, Division 5 state championship game last season, but in 2009 head coach Billy Mills will have to replace a senior class that included seven college recruits including quarterback Adam Morgan (VMI), wide receiver Sam Haskins (Troy) and linebacker Bradley Johnson (Maryland). Coach Mills has some talent to play with, though, including three rising junior recruits.
The rising junior class is led by talented defensive tackle Corey Marshall, a 6-2, 260-pound prospect that has already garnered two verbal scholarship offers.

A Look Ahead to Alabama: The Secondary

Top In-State Linemen Update Recruiting

While most of the state's top 2010 class offensive line prospects have already committed, two notables - Deep Run (Glen Allen, VA) offensive tackle Conner Davis and Lake Braddock (Burke, VA) offensive tackle Khamrone Kolb - have yet to commit. That could change by the end of summer, though, as each prospect is at least considering ending the recruiting process within the next couple of months.

The 6-5, 235-pound rising senior, who was sporting a Virginia Tech hat, shirt, and shorts, was excited and relieved with the verbal commitment he made to the Tech coaches earlier in the day.
